Q Nobody gets through life without experiencing conflict. But when faced with conflict, our responses vary. The selection "Personal Conflict Styles" provides descriptions of common responses to conflict along with their pros and cons. The descriptions will help you not only identify your own personal style but also evaluate its effectiveness. Read the selection from a college communication textbook titled, Looking Out/Looking In, on pages 391-395 in your reading textbook, "Personal Conflict Styles". While reading practice active reading by using a pen/pencil to annotate for the central point, major supporting details including enumeration, definitions, and examples. Write personal notes/connections in the margins. Complete the Reading Comprehension Questions in your textbook pages 396-400 for additional skills practice. Include your answers to pages 396-400 in the discussion. 1. Answer one of the four discussion prompts on textbook PAGE 400 by typing your response in the "reply" box below. Students in this class will be able to read your response. 2. Indicate which discussion question you have selected by putting a 1, 2, 3, or 4 before you begin to type your response in the "reply" box below. 3. Type your response addressing all parts of the prompt (type your response in the "reply" box below). Your response should be approximately 300-500 words in length. Incorporate the writing prompt into your response and reference the article a minimum of three times throughout your post either by summarizing, paraphrasing, or directly quoting the author of the article. Remember this is a discussion, so you are required to provide examples and details and fully elaborate on your response so your peers understand your perspective. 4. Once you post your response, you will be able to see your peer's posts. You are required to read and respond to one peer but you may respond to as many as you would like. Make sure you respond in a manner that will further the discussion.
